Inhabiting the Web: Task 21/08/96

Task One: Jumbled Cities

You will be split into two teams of roughly equal numbers.

Ten city names will be written down onto a blackboard, but in anagram form.

Each team has their own blackboard to write the answers down, and you have ten minutes to identify all ten cities.

Task Two: Odd Man Out

Again you will be split into two teams (the same as above).

Each team will be given two lists of words, one containing five words and one six. All bar one of the words in each list will be related. Your task is to spot the odd word out and say why it is the odd word out. When you have done this for the lists you have been given, it is your taks to come up with three further lists of words which will be presented to the other team for them to guess the odd words out.

You should use the blackboard assigned to your team to write down your lists and then invite the other team over to guess the odd words out.

Task three: Random Words

I will ask everybody present to collectively provide me with 10 random words.

These will be written onto a blackboard, and your task is to construct a 50-100 word paragraph which incorporates all the words on the board.

This task will either be done individually or in teams of two. You'll have 10 minutes to write your paragraph.

Task Four: Maze

Everybody must quit their text clients.

One person is "it" whilst the others disappear into the Maze world to hide. They have 30 seconds start before they are looked for. There are walls and ceilings which make zooming views difficult.

When you have been found make your way back to the games room.
