Today we will be making extensive use of focus, and a tutorial on focus is available to remind (instruct) you how you can both display and adjust your focus.
WARNING: A "feature" of MASSIVE means that when there are a number of people in the same world and you are trying to toggle your focus so it is visible (using the f key in the graphical window) it can sometimes toggle off without any user prompting. You may have to press the key repeatedly until your focus is displayed and hope it doesn't disappear before you have performed your adjustment! You may or may not experience this, but it is worth pointing out in advance.
The first task will take place in the Games world. I would like to split people up into two teams.
If the relevant people are not at the meeting then we will improvise the teams.
Your task is to form a group in the Games world with the rest of your team members so you can hear each other but not the members of the other team. Follow the instructions on how to change your focus to form your group.
When you are happy that you have acheived this switch back to a wide focus and gather near the blackboards.
This task will take place in the world through the green portal labelled "Today's Task". It is important that you read the whole of these notes and are familiar with what you will have to do before entering the world.
In the world you will find twenty objects, some of which will be making a noise, some of which will be making no noise. There are two objects for ten different colours, labelled 1 and 2.
Your team's task is to note down the colour and number of each object, and whether it is making a noise or not, and if it is making a noise what noise it is making.
If you are unclear about what to do then please ask before entering the world.
It is up to you how you go about finding out the information as a team. When you have all the information required then return to the games world. Do not return to the games world until you have all the information required as once you have left the task world you should not return to it (the only exception will be if your client crashes, which hopefully it shouldn't).
Once in the games world gather in front of your answer blackboard (the first team back chooses one board - the second team back uses the other board). Take it in turns within your team to write down the colour, number and noise made for those objects which were making a noise.
Good luck!
