(Research - Project) Inhabiting the Web Task 10/07/96: Lost at Sea

Hello! Thank you for joining this experiment.

Below you will find an assignment called Lost at Sea. As a group, you have to rank items on a list in order of importance, using the whiteboard to record your solution.

This is how to start: Locate the room with the whiteboard. All assemble there. Once you are all in the right room introduce yourself shortly. You have one hour to discuss the Lost at Sea problem together and come up with the best solution that you all agree on. Write this list on the whiteboard. Feel free to use the whiteboard for notes and try out any other thing you may feel inclined to, as long as you achieve ranking of the list after one hour. When the experiment is over you will receive an explanation.

Imagine you are all standing on the last parts of a shipwreck going down into the Northsea. You are about to step into a small life-raft. There is a box with 15 basic supplies, but you may not be able to take all of them with you in the raft. Time stands still for you all to make up your mind about which items are of most importance.

Rank the following 15 items in descending order of importance for your survival.

FIFTEEN FEET OF NYLON ROPE

FISHING KIT

FIVE-GALLON CAN OF WATER

FLOATING SEAT CUSHION
