A PhD studentship is available from 1st October 1998 as part of the
EPSRC-funded project "The Realisation and Utility of Persistence in
Collaborative Virtual Environments" (Grant GR/M09223).

This studentship is based in the Communications Research Group in the
Department of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham. For
over six years the Communications Research Group has been actively
researching Collaborative Virtual Environments, that is, multi-user
virtual reality to support cooperation and social activities. The CRG
is also the home of the MASSIVE-1 and MASSIVE-2 CVE systems.

This project combines elements of distributed system design with
usability and experimentation, and would suite an individual with
interests in either or both areas.

Please make informal enquiries to Dr Chris Greenhalgh, email
cmg@cs.nott.ac.uk, sending a CV and covering note.
