Cybergate is a rather good multi-user 3D world. Our interest in it is
that we can create our own worlds, plus it has good collaboration extras
('business cards' and URLs for users etc.)
One member of the LVRG, Tracy Durkin, has made some of her spaces
'cybergate-able' (http://kiad.ac.uk/vrml/zone1.wrl) , and hopes to
create one for group use. For those who can I recommend that you
download Cybergate and look at it (http://www.blacksun.com).
